M83: Digital Shades [vol. 1]

Equal Sound's inaugural concert featured the live premiere of M83’s ambient record, Digital Shades [vol. 1]. This Brian Eno-inspired work had its debut in a sold-out performance, arranged for string ensemble, electronics, and voice.

The program traces ambient music’s roots in the music of John Cage and its influence on current composers Ingram Marshall, Michael Gordon, and Missy Mazzoli.
